① South Korea's government may increase the annual enrollment quota for medical schools by up to 2,000.

② If Seoul decides to increase the new quota, it will begin affecting medical schools starting in 2025.

아직까지도 선진국에서의 의과대학 입학 정원은 대한민국보다 훨씬 더 높으나, 그들은 공공 수요의 증가를 반영하기 위해 더 많은 정원을 늘리는 작업을 하고 있습니다.

⑬ This is because many countries anticipate a rise in medical services going forward as the population ages rapidly in many countries.

⑯ In March, a teenager died in an ambulance without getting treatment after falling from a four-story building because it took more than 2 hours to find an emergency room.

⑰ However, the Korean Medical Association publicly opposed a plan, saying the government should first focus on devising policies to better allocate the doctors to critical specialties before increasing a quota.

그러나 대한의사협회는 정부가 정원을 늘리기 전에 의사를 중요한 전문 분야에 더 잘 배치하는 정책을 마련하는 데 우선 초점을 맞춰야 한다며 공개적으로 반대했습니다.
